Paul's 41st birthday

The kids were really excited to make a special breakfast for Paul for his birthday. They asked if they should get up at 6 am to make it. I told them that 7 was sufficient since it only takes a few minutes to toast English muffins and pour juice! They didn't want any help! They toasted the muffins (somewhat...since they couldn't wait that long because they wanted Dad to open his presents) poured the juice and added a banana for good measure! Thankfully during all the excitement nothing was spilled!

After breakfast, opening presents and getting ready we were off to our favorite city- Boston! We had a bit of a plan- eat lunch, take the water ferry over to the U.S.S. Constitution and back and most of all to enjoy the beautiful weather.

We were so grateful for a sunny warm day! We ate lunch right next to the water and basked in the sunshine. The kids found a tree to climb in Christopher Columbus park and I found a saxophone player who was willing to serenade Paul with "Happy Birthday!" The best buck I have ever spent! It was so fun to embarrass him!

We took the ferry for a quick ride to the Constitution. I think the ferry for the kids was actually more fun than the Constitution and the history lesson. We were just so happy to be outside and warm that pretty much anything was a go.

It was such a nice day for all. I especially enjoyed picking up dinner on the way home- Fish and chips as requested by the English birthday boy.

1. warm sunshine
2. not having to cook a single meal
3. Boston- so much to explore
