Lola the Seal

Lola just loves to dive into the snow and retrieve her ball. It just cracks me up with this really deep snow. She looks like a seal instead of a dog.

Breakfast is served!

Lissy was so kind to surprise me with breakfast this morning! I was sitting at the computer and the next thing I know a delicious and quite thoughtout arrangement appears before me!
Working on round two. She was so kind to make it for Xander also!
Lola may have eaten a few banana slices...

Picture this for $25.00

When I took this photo in the fall my mother in law said,
"you could enlarge that and sell it!" What a nice compliment I thought.

Unbeknownst to me Paul had it blown up to poster size for a Christmas present for me. (He had a "free coupon" from Staples.) He searched for a frame, but waited because they were so expensive and he wasn't sure where I would want to hang it.

We went to Ikea on Saturday and got a frame for it. For only $25.00!!

Last night we hung it up and I LOVE IT!

Love notes

I have a new pen pal.
We have been exchanging notes back and forth for a week or so now. Every night she reminds me that her note will be on her bedside table and not to forget. So when I go up to bed and make sure the kids are all tucked in I read my note and respond. It really makes my heart happy.

Interesting thing is when I was young I would leave my mom notes at night. She is an RN and worked the 3-11 shift so we had really opposite schedules. She would be at work by the time I got home from school.  I am so glad that Alyssa is carrying on the tradition. It is always special to get a love note!

Snowman snow!

This afternoon it was the perfect snowman snow. Unfortunately the kids were a bit overzealous and couldn't figure out how they were going to stack them on top of the other.

So they just sat on them instead.
Do I really have to come inside?

Snow Day!

The kids were hoping and praying for a snow day and they got it! With 20 plus inches of snow it was great to be home safe and sound where the kids could come and go all day long!
First on the agenda was building a snow fort!

Our snow plow guy (whom we LOVE) makes these huge mounds and packs it in. Perfect for tunneling through!

The view from my perch inside is nice and cozy!
Umm! Excuse me! A little privacy please! What’s a dog to do when the snow is almost shoulder height?! Pee on the deck! Do you blame her?
So grateful Paul was home to do the snow blowing!
And shoveling! The snow is higher than Lola!

New Years Eve 2010

On New Years Eve we ventured into Boston and
walked around Boston Common
It was fun to see the ice sculptures and the crowds of people milling about on a beautiful 53 degree day!
The big kids had to have "noodle" hats.
They were quite the hit!
After a delicious lunch of fish and chips we finished off the beautiful day by getting Cannolis at Mike's! It was so nice to be outside without gloves and walking around without being frozen!
A great way to end 2010!
