Whoops!

Tonight I was taking pictures of the babies since they are getting so close to fledging.
It is amazing how fast they have changed!

They were letting me know that they really didn't like me being so close and the next thing I know... ONE then TWO then the THREE little babies flew the coop!
  Oops! A little early!
Two flew off rather well and the third plopped down in the bushes. I keep peeking in at the EMPTY nest and feel terrible! In Xander's prayer tonight he asked that the babies can be back safely with their mom. I am hoping that all will be well and that mama and babies will be together safe and sound!

I can see cleary now

Amazing how clear and sharp everything is!
I just thought the world was regularly fuzzy!

No matter which side of the goal Alyssa is on...

playing goalie in her new keepers jersey

 Or playing offense

 Whoa! That was close!
Header!!
Alyssa ALWAYS gives her best!

Siblings are great!

I always feel bad when Mama Robin flies away because we go out the front door.
She is never far and always making sure her babies are okay!

When she is gone at least the babies have each other to snuggle with.

They don't seem to mind. Thank goodness for body heat and siblings!
Now if we could do something about their looks... Definitely in the awkward stage!

Xander's new friend

We were getting Xander's haircut and my friend was talking about her son finding the little snakes that were in her yard as she mowed. I said I haven't seen any and I was glad! I am NOT a fan of snakes. So when we got back and Paul was mowing Xander was on the prowl for snakes. Soon enough and much to my dismay he found one!

Okay given the fact that he is little I may classify him as cute.
But in a month he will definitely NOT be cute!

The babies are here!

Every year I am in awe of these sweet little babies. It is truly a testament to me that Heavenly Father lives and loves us. Who else could create such amazing creatures? Today I am thankful for nature and Mama robins!

Father Son Campout

All the stars aligned and the rain held off and Paul and Xander FINALLY made it to the father son campout! So many years in the past it has not worked out due to Paul traveling, rain,  etc...

A campfire and whittling wood- all a boy could want!

Oh and soda and junk food and a friend!

The guys had a great time thanks to some great friends for showing up and making the night complete!

 Fishing the next morning!

A little extra knife time before mom makes him put the knife away!

Paul said it was the perfect amount of camping- total of 14 hours and no women to make things much more complicated- Like brushing teeth or bringing all sorts of unnecessry items! Hey I resemble and resent that! So glad they had a great time!

Life's a beach

We always have to make at least one stop at the beach when we are in California.
It was the perfect late afternoon to sit in the sun and put our toes in the sand and watch the HUGE flocks of pelicans fly overhead. (Thankfully no dive bombing!)
Of course A&A had to go swimmimg and boogie boarding.
 Brrrr...but they loved it!
And then there always have to be time to dig in the sand!

Oh deer!

Alyssa and Xander made dear deer friends at the Wild Animal Park!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

 The background almost looks fake.

Butterfly friends- Grandma Barbara's matches her outfit!
Alyssa had to coerce hers a bit, but she was successful in finding a friend!

A great way to spend Easter and celebrate Paul's birthday!
