Last day of summer

On our last day of summer vacation our friends invited us over to their house on the lake for a cookout and swimming. It was the perfect way to wrap up a wonderful summer! This was the first summer that I wasn't ready for them to go back to school. We did so much and had such a great time I didn't want it to end and go back to the hustle and bustle of school, homework and sports! So we spent the day sitting by the side of the lake, well the parents did, the kids were busy swinging into the water and kayaking all around. 

 Ahhh serenity and peace and beauty...... Are you sure we have to go back to reality?

This is their adorable dog, Daisy. Her tongue is too long for her mouth so it always sticks out the side! They have to attach her to the dock and she swims in circles until you pick her up by the handle on the back of her life jacket.

BTW- Yes, the kids were very sore the next day!
