Great book!

I was preparing for a lesson for the YW on the plan of salvation and I came across the website:
theredheadedhostess.com What a great website! LOVE IT!
On there she had a link to this book

and she included 2 free chapters which totally helped me with my lesson!
So I bought the book and the kids and I went over a chapter last night. It is geared towards teens, has QR codes you scan to go to videos relating to the subject, lesson helps (fantastic) and ideas. Great book! I know I will be using it again and again...

Boys!

Paul was in Daytona and found the PERFECT shirt for Xander.
It makes me laugh!!!

It's all about bodily functions with boys! I won't let him wear it to school.
I think the teachers may think it's inappropriate- me I think it's TOTALLY appropriate!

Love letter

I got a love letter today!
Thanks Lissy! I love you too! You made my day!
We got about 30ish inches of snow from the blizzard.
It really was just a big snow storm. Not really a major event in our lives.
We never lost power, got lots of snow and were able to be home with no where to go since there was a driving ban from 4pm on Friday to 4pm on Saturday.

The view from my kitchen window.
By the time it stopped snowing the snow was to the top of the pool gate.

The kids had a blast going in and out and in and out...

As far as blizzards go I would call this one an easy time! It's probably because Paul was in town. Nothing major happens until he leaves... I think he plans it that way!

Adversity

In stories, as in life, adversity teaches us things we cannot learn otherwise. Adversity helps to develop a depth of character that comes in no other way. Our loving Heavenly Father has set us in a world filled with challenges and trials so that we, through opposition, can learn wisdom, become stronger, and
experience joy!

Super Bowl 2013

Every year we make a bunch of appetizers, drink soda and put a blanket on the floor in the living room and have a superbowl picnic. We usually don't care who wins since it has been forever since the Cowboys have made it to the Super Bowl... We are just glad that the Patriots aren't in it or if they are we hope that they loose so we don't have to hear all the crap about how wonderful they are-
 blah blah blah.

This year Alyssa did the decorations-

In addition to the pigs n' a blanket, nachos, chicken nuggets etc. I thought it would be good to have something a little healthy. I kept seeing these recipes on Pinterest for black bean cakes and the night before Super Bowl I came across one for cookies. I thought I'd give it a go. The only one in on the scoop was Alyssa since she wanted to help me make everything. They only thing we told the boys was that they have a "healthy" ingredient. It worked out perfectly because Xander wanted everyone to try them at the same time.

One Two Three- EAT!

OH do I wish I had my camera for the look of Paul's face. SO funny! Don't believe the hype!
They were NASTY! 4/4 extremely disliked them. I love black beans, but even I thought they were pretty bad!!! There's a place for black beans, but definitely NOT in cookies! At least all of the appetizers were good! I had black beans on my nachos (where they belong) and they were delish!

Blizzard of 2013

At first they said it would snow this much-

Then they said it would snow this much-

No worries- we are ready! We've got the essentials-

Bring it on!
