Babycakes!

Alyssa got a donut maker for Christmas. 

Of course we had to try it out that day!

 Well the first recipe we tried was well...yucky! She's trying to smile, but can't!

I should have known when the batter didn't taste good. 

So we gave it another go with a different recipe and...

 This time we made the maple glazed cinnamon applesauce donuts.

How Great Thou Art

Tonight when I was taking Alyssa to basketball practice I noticed a beautiful sunset. So I dropped her off and went up to a high point and stood in utter amazement at the beauty in the sky. I couldn't take my eyes off of it. I got in my car several times to leave, but then had to take yet another picture.

These gifts of nature feed my soul. It is moments like this that I know that God exists and loves me because who else could provide such astounding beauty?

 It brings to mind the Hymn How Great Thou Art

O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder,
Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made;
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.

When through the woods, and forest glades I wander,

Warped!

I made chicken pot pie with corn bread dumplings for dinner last night. 

EVERYTHING from scratch even the white sauce and no canned veggies! 

It turned out beautiful -

and tasted delicious. I even got a, "that was good" from Mr. I don't like Chicken Pot Pie (Xander).

But I forgot to take a picture of it when it came out of the oven until most of it was eaten. So the picture came out like this. I told Paul that doesn't look very good-

Nice and gross! I guess we have a pretty warped sense of humor over here in the Trueman family! Keeps us real and LAUGHING!

This year my word is nonjudgmental. I want to work harder on not quickly making judgements about a situation or a person. Accept something for what is, is...and move forward without judgement or criticism. 
How do we truly understand what is going on without delving deeper? 

Tonight we had the missionaries over for dinner.

 After a nice refined dinner we decided to mix it up a bit...

 NERF WAR!!!!! 

 Sister Williams showed no mercy for older ladies 

 or dogs!

 How's that for an action shot?!!

 Ha! Xander takes advantage of the situation while they reload!

 But Sister Cannon prevails in the end! 

Who knew you could have so much fun in a skirt? 

We LOVE the sister missionaries!
