North Carolina Part 3

The wedding was supposed to take place here under the pavillion with the beach in the background. Instead the huge thunder clouds were looming in the background!

We had a few minutes to take some family photos-

Until the heavens opend and it POURED down rain!
So they had the wedding inside.

By the time the ceremony was finished the storm had passed and cleared and this was the gift it left for the wedding couple-

It was a great night celebrating love
and friends!

North Carolina Part 2

One of the perks of our being delayed was they gave our original room away and instead offered us 2 rooms with double queen beds in each room! The kids were stoked!
It would have been perfect if we had a connecting door, but at least we were right next to each other. Hey guys don't get used to this!!

So North Carolina welcomed us with an excessive heat advisory-
109 ridicilously humid, hot and disgusting degrees! YUCK!

At least we had yogurt to keep us cool!

Unfortunately the heat was still there for the rehersal dinner so we were all melting! I had my "old lady"  paper towel in my pocket to wipe my face off every few minutes. GROSS!
At least we were all melting together!
Jessica, Liz, Me and Jenny

It was so much fun to see my friend Liz's family! We have been friends since first grade and I watched these young ladies grow up. Some of her family I haven't seen since my wedding 21 years ago!

All in order-
Jessie, Carrie, Becky, Michael, Jenny, Lizzy, Debbie, Cheryl and Rob
Bad picture unfortunately- they look possessed since they all have "evil flash eyes"

We grew up with each others families. Liz and I are only 11 days apart. Even though I am older I tell her she is since she has a son getting married and one who graduated from High school this year. It was such a great night going down memory lane!

North Carolina part one

Toes are done,
bags are packed and we were off to North Carolina for wedding #2.
Okay well maybe not on Thursday night as intended....

We got out onto the runway to hear the captain tell us there was a groundstop in DC. The evening thunderstorms delayed our flight and we would not be able to make our connection.  Thankfully the pilot drove us back to the gate and we were able to get off and stay the night in Boston. No sense driving home when we had a 5am flight and it was already after 9 pm.
So Paul worked his magic and we had a room at  Embassy Suites and the kids were in the pool within 30 minutes of getting off the plane!
Pretty impressive Trueman! You rock! I am SOOO SOOO SOOO very grateful he traveled with us. We were going to just meet in NC. That would have been bad since he's the guy with all of the perks, knowledge and traveling finesse! I would have been lost, frustrated and very annoyed!

Lola loves raspberries!

Look at that face!
The kids have taught Lola how to "pick" raspberries. She loves them!

Thankfully they are outside her boundaries so she won't eat too many!
"Hey guys I found a good one right here!"

So far so good with no thorns in the mouth!

Summer nature

Rocky Neck State Park and Beach

We have a new favorite beach! There's so much to do here-
swimming,
 digging,
 crabbing with chicken legs,

making friends with a weasel, who also liked chicken legs...

 fishing, shrimping
 body surfing-
SUMMER FUN!

Purgatory

Alyssa's friend had her belated birthday party at Purgatory Chasm.
What a great idea! The kids had a blast.
The name always makes me laugh... silly I know!

I hiked, but no caving for me except the the crack below. Too many spiders and unknown in those deep dark holes. Ewww!

Xander going through "Fat man's misery"

Me looking up at the kids while going through Fat man's misery.
Glad they didn't spit on me!

The kids looking down into Fat man's misery.

Nice hair Xa!
Good friends and great fun!
Followed by a bbq, cake and games in the park.
