Double digits!

Each year I have Alyssa and Alexander hold up the number of fingers they are. This year they were hesitant to do it since you know they are 10 now! So I found a "cool" way for them to inconspicuously do it.

I know it is a little morbid...thankfully they are still alive and kicking!

Their birthday turned into more of a birthday bash weekend-
we made and ate cake on the 2nd rather than the 3rd
They got their new bikes a few days early. We also celebrated at Six Flags and a trip to the skate park. A wonderful birthday weekend had by all!
That's my guy! And he always will be no matter how old!
Alyssa also got a new skateboard with money earned over the summer and money from Grandma Barbara. You go girl!
P.S. you'll always be my sweet little babies!

Super yummy lunch

I don't like just having a plain old sandwich for lunch so I am always trying to come up with new EASY things for lunch! Today at the grocery store I found this:
DELICIOUS!

I added one cup of this:

I added frozen broccoli and let it cook in the microwave with the soup
 and this
I cooked the sausages in the skillet until browned
and I got THIS:

A super yummy easy delicious lunch!

The best part is the couscous makes 3 portions so I made 3 sausages too. Now I can have a bowl of this for tomorrow and one in the freezer for next week. Mmmm!

The concensus is in....

They look beautiful
They feel really neat
They are shiny and smooth and really hard
BUT.... How the heck do ya eat it??
A HA!

And the final verdict is..........
NO
we will not be making candy apples again.
I think we will stick with the caramel version... or maybe just caramel dip.

I never knew...

making popcorn balls was this easy!

We made them like rice krispie treats with a bag of microwave kettle corn, melted marshmallows, and a few tablespoons of margarine. Of course we had to throw some chocolate chips in there.
Which made it messy, but very yummy!
Mmmm... gooey satisfaction

Too chewy for me today. Next time I’ll eat more the night I make them. Wouldn’t want to be wasteful now would I?

Fun snack

The kids had a good time speilling words with our after school snack. I was amused too! I even had to dump out the ENTIRE box to find the K. I guess scrabble Cheez-its really are fun.
