Christmas Eve 2013

The kids say Christmas Eve is the LONGEST DAY EVER!
It doesn't help when unlce Michael gets into Boston on a 7am flight and they have to wait
ALL DAY LONG
for the rest of the family to arrive.

But when they do it is a blast!
Eating, opening some presents,
eating, reading from Luke,
eating and hanging out with family!

Left over bread dough that Paul used to create a skull.
Nothing says Christmas Eve more than a skull right?! Ya, not so much!

Nice apron Paul.

Eli
Mad libs- of course with tons of bodily function words included!
What's a mad lib without farts or poop? Maybe one day it will get old?

Noah

Uncle Michael and Grandma hanging out on the couch.  Jet lag is hitting Mike!
We all have paper crowns from the Christmas poppers that Barb brings every year. Always a must!

All the waiting is forgetten by the end of the night.
Family makes the day perfect!

Spirit week- 80's day

December 2013
Spirit week at school-
80's Day

It always cracks me up to see what my kids think the 80's looked like!
Lissy is definitely somewhere in the 60's or early 70's and Xander is pretty spot on with his t-shirt, but he needs long feather hair and skin tight parachute pants with capezio shoes.
Last minute we found a few bandanas to wrap around his arms as bracelets.
Oh the memories!

Cell cakes December 17, 2013

Fun and Extra Credit for Science don't usually belong in the same sentence.
But when the assignment is creating an edible animal or plant cell it's all good!

 Xander's plant cell

Alyssa's animal cell

They both tasted really good too!

Favorite snow shots so far 2013-2014

As much as I complain about the snow I would rather have it frozen on the ground than ugly, brown and plain old cold. It is so beautiful when we get a fresh coating. It brightens and cleans everything up.  My most favorite is when it coats everything and makes it look like a winter wonderland!

Winter does provide us with the most amazing sunsets!
I think it's our reward for enduring the LONG COLD NEVER-ENDING WINTER.

Ice ice baby-- December 9, 2013

A coating of ice sure does make everything look pretty

But I don't recommend driving on it or for that matter walking down our driveway!

Moobs- December 2013

Every year at Christmastime we drive by this guy:

 Take a closer look...
We call him "Moobs" as in man boobs. He is in serious need of a bra.
We think of the sister missionaries whenever we see him because they too would drive by and laugh!

Another friend has dubbed him the A"boob"inable snowman.
Whatever name he goes by, he gives us a good giggle every time we pass by!

NJHS December 12, 2013

Alyssa was selected to be a member of the National Junior Honor Society!
This is not an easy task! The members must have a 93% GPA, have 20 hours of service per semester, show good character and be a leader in their school or community.

NJHS Pledge:
I pledge myself to uphold
The high purposes of the National
Junior Honor Society
To which I have been selected;
I will be true to the principles for
which it stands;
I will be loyal to my school;
And will maintain and encourage
High standards of scholarship,
service, leadership, citizenship,
and character.

It was a really nice night. The new inductees were introduced and given a flower and certificate. Our principal spoke along with the NJHS advisors. I was proud of the kids and all their hard work!
